…. A Tyrolean region with more than 100 years of ski-tradition. The fact that the Arlberg resort is well-known all over the world can be attributed to pioneers such as Hannes Schneider, only to name one of them. In 1912 he created the uniform alpine skiing-style and due to his group-ski school Schneider is also known as the founder of the present, modern ski school-system. Major reasons for the excellent reputation and popularity of St. Anton a. Arlberg as a skiing resort are primarily mountain-movies of the silent film-era of Arnold Fanck as well as the Arlberg-Kandahrrace, first held in 1928.

Today skiing-addicts benefit from more than 82 ski-lifts and cable cars within the skiing area of St. Anton a. Arlberg. With more than 260 km of prepared ski runs and 185 km of ski runs covered with powdery snow St. Anton a. Arlberg belongs to the most beautiful and biggest skiing areas all over Austria.
